Unlocking Mio Moov m300

Today we mess with another old and expired Mio Moov m300



First thing i went to the original website to find some map updates http://eu.mio.com/en_eu/moov-m300.htm (another fail).
Only thing you can find there is some nice pictures and manual.

So if they dont make anymore new updates for this device you have to use something else.
I found (googled) another cool tool to unlock Mios.

Unlocked desktop. Launch programs using icons

Step 1. - Preparing the device.

Make a backup copy of your original directories/files.

Step 2. - Connecting the device.

Connect your device by the USB cable to your PC.

Step 3. - Installing the Unlock hack.

Please start the setup program of the Mio_Moov_Unlock.

Click the button "Install Desktop".

Step 4. - Disconnecting the device.

Use the Windows Explorer to eject the device safely. Very important!!!

After that my Mio moov m300 started like any other PDA with WinCE and i copied TomTom and iGO under the Program Files and linked shortcuts to mu Win CE desktop (Mio soft are also still there :)

Do not try to use the wrong program for your devices. It will not work - and maybe it could destroy your device!

Step 1. - Preparing the Navman device.

Make a backup copy of your Navman directories/files and prepare your SD Card as per directions on the following link.

Step 2. - Connecting the Navman device.

Windows XP: Make sure ActiveSync is installed on your PC.

Connect your Navman by the USB cable to your PC.

Step 3. - Installing the Unlock hack.

Please start the Navman Unlock setup program on your desktop computer.

On the Navman device you may be asked about the installation location. Please make a double tab to the "Navman_xxx_Unlock.CAB". You will be asked to override it - answer [Yes]. (The .cab file will be removed by the install process later on.)

Navman F20, F30, F40, F50, iCN 320, iCN 330, iCN 650

These devices do not have a Windows CE core. Unlocking is therefore not possible.

Notes:

• To start the Navman SmartST navigation program please select "SmartST" from the new Windows start menu.
• If you wish to add new programs to the start menu please put program shortcuts into the "Unlock\Programs" folder.
• If you wish to see program icons on the desktop of your Navman device please put the programs shortcut into the "Unlock\Desktop" folder.
• Programs that you want executed on each start up of your device should have their shortcut placed in the "Unlock\Startup" folder.
